This place is equipped with all types of sporting accessories and facilities for a wide variety of outdoor games. The gym facilities are extraordinary just like a professional space. The place is open till 11pm during fall, winter, and spring terms but till 8 pm during summer term.
Has everything but it's ridiculously busy. I never thought a gym that big wouldn't have enough space but it needs to be another half as large in the fitness sections. Please more signage about not taking pictures on the floor or dropping weights, some of the students don't have much experience in a public gym and it shows.
Great gym. A lot of nice equipment. The only things they don't have are a leg adductor and sitting leg curl machine. The staff is nice, even when they remind me to keep my mask over my nose. Unfortunately, the sauna is closed. I wish they'd just make it one person at a time. I don't think any virus can survive at that temperature for long anyway. Also, they don't enforce the dress code, so you can wear whatever you want.
I and a lot of other students tend to avoid the center as there have been consistent mask violations, and issues of sanitation of areas. There is also little reinforcement towards maintaining basic covid safety. This has been a consistent problem through the crisis, and I really hope that they do better in the future. I really wish we were able to use the areas that our tuition pays for without having to worry about exposures. :
One of the most amazing experiences and hospitality thanks to wael. He was very great at his job as he was giving suggestions and recommendations towards everything!!
Would definitely come again and bring more friends this time!
Everyone is super nice and all the equipment is awesome (so I recommend if you’re paying and not a current student) but I am taking summer classes, all of them were made online due to COVID and now I am not allowed in the gym? Even though I was a week ago! It just seems a little unfair under the circumstances that I am still literally paying thousands and thousands of dollars and not allowed to go into the gym because of an OSU policy… I will change/delete my review for Fall Term, for now it seems unjust because it is week six and I was able to go prior (literally a week ago!)! You think OSU would make some COVID exceptions because this past year I have only had the opportunity to take one in person class due to my major. This review isn’t about the physical gym more about the policy!
Has gotten more and more packed every year I’ve been here (this is year 4). FAR over capacity. Even at 9-11pm (they close at 11pm) now every machine is taken. And that’s not even peak that you see 3:30-7pm or so. It’s really hard to me to get up at 6am too :/
When I’ve done that it’s workable though. Doesn’t seem like foresight that stewards student funds well.
Nice facility for swimming, sports, b-ball, indoor track. Weights and Cardio equipment need serious rethinking. All of the elliptical machines are half the stride needed; weights are super restricted in access due to volume of users. I’m sure OSU has the financial and intellectual resources to make the equipment in the gym a better experience for access and quality of workout.
